Senior Backend Engineer - Node.js & AWS (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js and AWS to join a high‑traffic platform on a contract basis. This fully remote position offers the chance to design, build, and maintain scalable services for a global technology leader.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Node.js microservices using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and CloudFormation.
• Optimize backend performance, scalability, and reliability for low‑latency user experiences.
• Implement secure and efficient RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Lead architectural decisions for cloud infrastructure, including containerization with Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes or ECS.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and establish automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional Node.js backend development experience.
• Proven ability to work independently in a distributed, remote team.
• Strong track record of delivering production‑grade services in cloud environments.
