Senior Finance Coordinator

About the role

The Senior Finance Coordinator is responsible for overall financial management and supporting program operations across the Area Office. The role ensures that financial planning, budgeting, and reporting are aligned with strategic business plans while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Area Office and field operation leaders to develop and monitor monthly and year‑end spending plans.
• Assist field offices in preparing master budgets and support budget holders during budget phasing.
• Track spending, monitor operational KPIs, and manage financial gaps and non‑transferable costs.
• Attend BvA meetings and coordinate performance discussions with field and Area Office managers.
• Provide training and capacity‑building to operational teams on budgeting and financial controls.
• Ensure field offices meet accounting timetables, submit high‑quality monthly summary accounts, and adhere to internal control and donor reporting requirements.
• Mentor and guide Senior Finance Officers, identifying capacity gaps and training needs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and compliance within an international or humanitarian context.
• Understanding of child safeguarding level 2 responsibilities and ability to work with children or young people safely.
• Familiarity with anti‑fraud, bribery, and corruption policies and ability to report concerns promptly.
• Ability to declare conflicts of interest and complete mandatory ethics training.
