Grants and Contracts Specialist

About the role

The Grants and Contracts Specialist will support the administration of grants, contracts, sub‑awards and consultant agreements for a USAID‑funded health systems strengthening project. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the specialist ensures compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies and local regulations while facilitating effective partner oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of grants, contracts and sub‑awards, from award set‑up to close‑out.
• Monitor financial and performance reporting to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
• Coordinate with project teams and partners to track deliverables, budgets and milestones.
• Identify and mitigate contractual and financial risks, escalating issues as needed.
• Maintain documentation and audit trails in accordance with donor and internal standards.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., Finance, Business Administration, International Development) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in grant and contract administration, preferably in international development or health projects.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, public financial management and reporting requirements.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
