Senior HR, Safeguarding and Admin Officer

About the role

The Senior HR, Safeguarding and Admin Officer provides operational leadership across human resources, administration and safeguarding functions for the Area Office and its project sites. The role ensures recruitment, staff management, performance and learning processes are aligned with organisational policies while maintaining a safe, inclusive workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment planning with field offices, manage the full hiring cycle, and ensure gender‑balanced and internal promotion opportunities.
• Oversee onboarding, staff movements (promotions, transfers, temporary duty, acting assignments) and maintain accurate HR records.
• Lead safeguarding initiatives, including case management, compliance monitoring and implementation of protective mechanisms.
• Manage administrative processes such as lease agreements, asset registers and record‑keeping to support operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Head of HR Operations, Talent Development Manager, Head of Admin and Head of Safeguarding on policy implementation and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Significant experience in HR management, administration and safeguarding within an international or humanitarian context.
• Proven ability to lead recruitment, staff development and compliance activities.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills, with a focus on gender equality and staff wellbeing.
• Willingness to undergo a police check despite no direct contact with children.
