About the role

Arba Minch University seeks a Senior Instructor to join its academic staff on a full‑time, hybrid basis. The role involves delivering high‑quality teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes while supporting research and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• Develop curricula, instructional materials, and course designs.
• Supervise student projects, provide mentorship, and support professional development.
• Conduct applied, demand‑driven research and publish findings.
• Participate in academic committees and university governance.
• Engage in community outreach and knowledge‑transfer activities.

Required profile

• Advanced academic training (Master’s degree minimum; PhD preferred) in a relevant discipline such as water resources, engineering, natural or social sciences.
• Proven experience in university‑level teaching, curriculum development, and learner‑centered pedagogy.
• Record of demand‑driven research, publications, and collaborative grant work.
• Strong communication, presentation, and academic writing abilities.
• Commitment to community service and knowledge transfer.
• Ethical conduct, collegial attitude, and willingness to contribute to departmental duties.
