Senior Program Manager, Clinical AI

About the role

CHAI is looking for a senior‑level leader to head the delivery of its Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiative focused on clinical health services in Ethiopia. The role will guide the responsible use of AI to improve diagnostics, treatment optimisation, patient engagement and health‑system efficiency across low‑ and middle‑income settings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, implementation and scaling of AI‑related projects in Ethiopia.
• Collaborate with government partners, NGOs and private‑sector stakeholders to integrate AI solutions into existing health‑system workflows.
• Ensure AI applications are deployed responsibly, adhering to ethical standards and local regulations.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of AI interventions on cost, efficiency and patient/provider experience.
• Provide strategic guidance to cross‑functional teams on health‑system strengthening and digital health.

Required profile

• Senior manager or associate‑director level experience in global health or health‑system strengthening.
• Proven track record of managing complex programs in low‑ and middle‑income countries.
• Deep understanding of AI applications in clinical settings.
• Strong ability to work with governments and multi‑sector partners.
