Senior Programme Associate – Grants Management (Affiliate Contractor)

About the role

The Senior Programme Associate will support IOM Ethiopia’s Grants Mechanism, overseeing the full lifecycle of grants to implementing partners across humanitarian, recovery, resilience, return, reintegration and development programmes. Reporting to the Senior Programme Officer (Protection) and the Grants Management Officer, the role ensures compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess implementing partners, conduct due‑diligence, capacity assessments and risk monitoring.
• Monitor grant implementation, review documentation, ensure compliance, and prepare analytical reports.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day interactions with partners and internal units, supporting field monitoring and documentation management.
• Provide limited financial and budget‑monitoring support, complementing the work of grants finance personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Political Science, Development Studies, Project Management) or a school diploma with at least six years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in grants management, partner coordination, and working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees or IDPs, preferably within an international organization.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder‑engagement skills, with the ability to work in multicultural, field‑based environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
• Experience using databases, trackers and structured electronic filing systems for information management.
