Senior Supply Chain Coordinator

About the role

The Senior Supply Chain Coordinator will lead the supply chain function for Save the Children’s North Area office in Dessie, Ethiopia, covering the Amhara, Tigray and Afar regions. The role ensures that procurement, fleet, warehousing and asset management operate efficiently and in line with global and national policies. It also includes responsibility for child safeguarding and compliance with anti‑fraud standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for development and emergency supply chain activities across the three regions.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive supply chain plan, identifying resource needs and timelines.
• Manage and support the supply chain team, defining structures, responsibilities and performance objectives.
• Advise senior management on supply chain issues and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate closely with the Country Supply Chain Head, functional managers (procurement, warehouse, fleet, construction) and the office supply chain systems coordinator.
• Ensure compliance with Save the Children’s global and Ethiopia‑specific supply chain policies, including fraud, bribery and child safeguarding procedures.
• Oversee procurement processes, fleet operations, warehouse activities and asset management to guarantee timely and accountable delivery of goods and services.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years experience in supply chain, procurement or logistics, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
• Proven experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams and delivering results in complex environments.
• Strong understanding of donor regulations, procurement standards and child safeguarding requirements.
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders and represent the organization in regional coordination forums.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on risk management and compliance.
