Senior Tree Expansion Research Officer (Fixed-Term)

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking a Senior Tree Expansion Research Officer on a fixed‑term basis to support the scaling of its Ethiopia Trees Program. The officer will combine desk research, primary data collection and field verification to generate evidence that guides strategic expansion across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct desk research to identify and assess potential expansion areas at regional, zonal and woreda levels.
• Collect, clean, analyze and synthesize agricultural, environmental, demographic, socioeconomic and market data from government, research institutions and development partners.
• Monitor trends and policy developments to spot opportunities and risks for program growth.
• Develop and maintain databases, trackers and research documentation to support planning and operational readiness.
• Participate in field scouting visits with the expansion team to validate findings and gather additional insights.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting research and data analysis in agricultural, environmental or related sectors.
• Ability to work independently on desk research and collaboratively on field visits.
• Strong attention to data quality, verification and documentation.
