Specification Engineer – Executive Level

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Specification Engineer at Executive level to lead specification selling and technical engagement for a portfolio of building and industrial solutions. The role involves influencing project specifications, building relationships with architects and consultants, and converting specified opportunities into commercial business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with architects, engineering consultants, designers, developers and key project stakeholders.
• Promote company products through technical presentations, product demonstrations and specification meetings to secure inclusion in BOQs and tender documents.
• Identify, track and support projects from design through tender and execution, working closely with the sales team to convert specifications into business opportunities.
• Prepare technical submittals, compliance documents, method statements and product recommendations; conduct site visits, mock‑ups and product demonstrations.
• Collaborate with Technical Service, Marketing, R&D and Sales teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Support market development by engaging developers, government authorities and project owners, and by driving vendor approvals and product certifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology or a related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in specification engineering, technical sales or project sales within construction chemicals, paints, coatings, waterproofing, flooring or building materials.
• Proven experience engaging consultants, architects, developers, contractors and other project stakeholders.
