Supply Chain Advisor for Malaria and MNCH Programs

About the role

The Health Program Supply Chain Advisor for Malaria and MNCH will work within Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Lead Executive Office (PMD‑LEO). The role provides technical assistance in demand planning, procurement, stock monitoring and overall supply chain management for malaria and maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) commodities, with the aim of strengthening national systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and support pharmaceutical supply chain strategies, projects and action plans for malaria and MNCH programs.
• Advise MoH and Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Supply Service (EPSS) leadership on initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with MoH functions, EPSS, USG SC Project managers and other partners to ensure accurate quantification, timely procurement and continuous availability of commodities.
• Provide expert guidance on health policies, strategies, interventions and innovations related to malaria and MNCH supply chains.
• Work with public and private sector partners to implement supply chain activities, including inventory management, storage, distribution and quality assurance.
• Promote data‑driven decision‑making and alignment with national health priorities.
• Lead capacity‑building efforts through technical mentorship, coaching and knowledge transfer to MoH and EPSS teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in health‑sector supply chain management, preferably with malaria and/or MNCH commodities.
• Strong understanding of demand planning, procurement processes, stock monitoring and logistics in a public‑health context.
• Ability to work closely with government ministries, national supply agencies and international partners.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to support multi‑stakeholder collaboration.
