Welcome Supervisor – Ethiopia

About the role

The Welcome Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day management and supervision of the Welcome unit supporting ICRC Ethiopia delegation staff and guests. The role ensures continuity, quality and timely delivery of welcome services, including travel, accommodation and administrative formalities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the Welcome Department to deliver effective, timely and quality services to staff, visitors and guests.
• Plan, allocate and monitor work within the team, defining roles, responsibilities and backup arrangements.
• Coach, guide and support Welcome staff, ensuring proper induction, integration and knowledge transfer.
• Ensure compliance with ICRC policies, security requirements, financial rules and local regulations.
• Coordinate staff travel and movement, securing cost‑effective flights, road travel and related logistics.
• Maintain effective liaison with internal stakeholders, ministries, airport and immigration authorities, travel agencies and transport providers.
• Monitor performance, manage information, and drive continuous improvement of the Welcome function.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supervising administrative or welcome services teams.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with internal staff and external authorities.
• Knowledge of ICRC institutional policies, security standards and relevant local regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure and ensure operational continuity during temporary assignments.
