Assistant Lawyer – Digital Communications & Practice Development

About the role

The Assistant Lawyer – Digital Communications & Practice Development will support the firm’s legal practice while strengthening its digital presence and business development initiatives. Working on‑site in Addis Ababa, you will collaborate with senior lawyers to deliver high‑quality legal research, document drafting, and client‑focused content.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research, draft and review basic legal documents, and summarise regulations and case law under senior supervision.
• Prepare client alerts, articles, and social‑media posts on Ethiopian corporate and investment law.
• Update the firm’s website, newsletters, and other digital channels.
• Coordinate practice‑development activities, maintain contact databases, and track client outreach.
• Support events, presentations, and training sessions that promote the firm’s services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) with a solid legal foundation.
• Excellent written English; Amharic proficiency is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, time‑management and ability to handle multiple tasks on‑site.
• Professional demeanor and client‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools).
• Familiarity with online publishing and content‑management tools.
• Ability to draft clear legal documents and summarize complex regulations.
