Audit Quality Assurance Expert – Senior Non-Key Expert

About the role

The European Union’s EUSPRE programme in Ethiopia is seeking a senior audit professional to lead quality‑assurance activities within the Technical Facility Unit. As a Senior Non‑Key Expert (SNKE – Audit 10), you will support the Office of the TFU in overseeing public financial management reforms and ensuring audit standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent audit quality assurance for the EUSPRE public finance management project.
• Review audit workpapers, methodologies and findings to ensure compliance with EU and international audit standards.
• Support capacity‑building initiatives for Ethiopian federal government staff involved in PFM reforms.
• Prepare and present quality‑assurance reports to project stakeholders and the EU donor.
• Identify audit risks and recommend corrective actions to improve transparency and efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of professional experience in audit, preferably in public sector or international development.
• Proven expertise in audit quality assurance and familiarity with EU procurement and financial regulations.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
