Automation Engineer – Industrial Automation & Control

About the role

The Automation Engineer will ensure safe, consistent, and standardized operation of factory automation and Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS). You will work to enhance system availability, optimise performance and quality, reduce costs, and strengthen cybersecurity resilience across our manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems; maintain control logic, alarms, and interlocks.
• Implement the IACS roadmap to improve OT reliability, standardise naming, version control, and reduce single points of failure.
• Support industrial networks (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC) and collaborate with IT on segmentation, firewalls, and remote access.
• Apply structured change control, support URS, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and ensure vendor compliance with documentation.
• Follow safety procedures (LOTOTO, permits), maintain technical documentation, system backups, and disaster‑recovery plans.
• Adhere to shop‑floor procedures, 5S/3R standards, and fire/labour safety regulations.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from a recognised university.
• Advanced English communication skills (oral and written).
• Proven experience troubleshooting PLC/HMI systems in an industrial environment.
• Familiarity with safety policies and OT‑security best practices.

Required skills

• Siemens and Rockwell PLC programming.
• HMI and SCADA development.
• Industrial drives and vision systems.
• OT networking tools and protocols: Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Knowledge of safety procedures (LOTOTO, permits) and disaster‑recovery planning.
