Business Development Division Manager

About the role

The Business Development Division Manager will lead the division responsible for expanding Nile Insurance’s market presence and driving revenue growth. Reporting to senior leadership, the role combines strategic planning with hands‑on management of sales and key‑account activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement business development strategies to increase market share across Ethiopia.
• Lead, coach and evaluate a team of sales and account managers to achieve targets.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with major corporate clients and strategic partners.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activities and regulatory changes to inform product and pricing decisions.
• Oversee the preparation of proposals, contracts and negotiations for high‑value insurance and risk‑management solutions.
• Collaborate with marketing, underwriting and operations to ensure seamless service delivery.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Insurance & Risk Management or Entrepreneurship.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience (or 9 years with a Bachelor’s) with at least 3 years in a management or senior supervisory role.
• Proven track record in business development, insurance sales, key‑account or market development.
• Strong analytical and leadership capabilities.
