Certified Oncology Data Specialist – Remote

About the role

American Data Network is seeking experienced Certified Oncology Data Specialists to perform accurate oncology data abstraction for healthcare clients. This remote position is ideal for professionals with hands‑on oncology registry experience who can work independently while maintaining high accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Review patient medical records and abstract data for oncology registries.
• Apply registry specifications, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and abstraction guidelines consistently.
• Enter complete data into registry platforms, EHRs, or vendor tools.
• Maintain compliance with NCRA and other applicable guidelines.
• Collaborate with oncology program leadership and clinical staff to clarify documentation.
• Participate in quality‑assurance activities, including feedback and validation reviews.
• Meet productivity expectations, weekly progress goals, and client deadlines.

Required profile

• Current Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification by the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA).
• Minimum 1 year of oncology registry experience (2 years preferred).
• Advanced understanding of oncology registry processes, coding, and manuals (SEER, AJCC, etc.).
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Comfort working with multiple EHRs and registry platforms.
