Chief of Party – Humanitarian Program (Ethiopia)

About the role

Samaritans Purse is seeking a Chief of Party to lead a multi‑sectoral emergency award program in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The role combines program oversight, budget management, and stakeholder coordination while maintaining a faith‑driven approach.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for program implementation, ensuring achievement of project goals and compliance with donor regulations.
• Manage the grant budget, prepare accurate financial reports, and monitor spending against approved limits.
• Supervise 5‑10 non‑supervisory staff and 2 supervisory staff, handling recruitment, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions.
• Engage with government authorities, UN agencies, humanitarian partners, and Samaritans Purse stakeholders to align objectives and coordinate activities.
• Conduct regular field visits to support staff, address challenges, and explore future program opportunities.
• Oversee reporting processes, maintain compliance with the United States Department of State award terms, and ensure adherence to Samaritans Purse standards.

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to Samaritans Purse’s Statement of Faith and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale humanitarian programs, budgets, and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Experience in food assistance or related emergency sectors is preferred.
