Component 4 Lead – Transform Soil Fertility Management Program (Ethiopia)

About the role

The Component 4 Lead will head the "Promote an Enabling Environment for Soil Health and Fertility" pillar of the TRANSFORM program in Ethiopia. This senior position provides strategic leadership to align program objectives with national and continental frameworks, including the Ethiopian Fertilizer and Soil Health Roadmap and African Union initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership to strengthen soil health and fertility systems across research, extension, and policy domains.
• Align TRANSFORM activities with the Ethiopian Fertilizer and Soil Health Roadmap, AUDA‑NEPAD, CAADP, and the Nairobi Declaration on Fertilizer and Soil Health.
• Establish and facilitate national and regional multi‑stakeholder platforms to accelerate roadmap implementation.
• Convene strategic dialogues on policy, market systems, fertilizer access, subsidy frameworks, and soil input regulations.
• Strengthen regulatory processes such as registration and labeling of soil inputs in line with international and national standards.
• Foster integration across TRANSFORM components and existing platforms, serving as a bridge to continental initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in agricultural policy, soil health, and fertilizer management, preferably in Ethiopia or similar contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑stakeholder platforms and coordinate across national, regional, and continental agendas.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks for soil inputs and experience addressing institutional and policy gaps.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills for strategic dialogues with government, private sector, and development partners.
