Copywriter – Advertising & Marketing

About the role

Berry Advertising is looking for a creative Copywriter to join its on‑site team in Addis Ababa. You will craft compelling written content for a variety of marketing assets, ensuring each piece aligns with client objectives and brand voice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop original copy for advertising campaigns across print, digital, radio, social media, outdoor and video.
• Write long‑form content such as blogs, website copy, newsletters, press releases and articles.
• Collaborate with creative, account and production teams to brainstorm concepts and deliver polished scripts.
• Research client industries, products and services to produce accurate, impactful messaging.
• Edit, adapt and proofread copy for different media, audiences and tones.
• Maintain version control of drafts, approvals and final deliverables.
• Ensure all content complies with legal, regulatory and brand guidelines while meeting tight deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Advertising or a related field.
• 1–2 years of copywriting or content writing experience, preferably in an agency or creative environment.
• Strong portfolio showcasing short‑form ad copy, long‑form pieces and digital media.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading abilities.
• Ability to switch between different brand voices and tones.
• Understanding of marketing principles and how copy drives action.
