Data Collector for VaxConnect Immunization Project

About the role

Techally Consult PLC is seeking motivated Data Collectors to support the baseline assessment of the VaxConnect Project, an implementation research initiative aimed at improving routine immunization services and vaccine supply chain management in selected woredas of Ethiopia. The role involves field work in health facilities, extracting quantitative data and gathering qualitative insights from health workers and programme managers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct health facility assessments using the Facility Assessment and Immunization Service Observation Tool.
• Observe routine immunization service delivery and document service readiness and workflow.
• Extract routine immunization indicators from registers, tally sheets, stock records and DHIS2 reports using the designated extraction tool.
• Enter quantitative data accurately into REDCap and verify completeness across sources.
• Conduct Key Informant Interviews with health workers, facility managers and woreda officials, ensuring informed consent and confidentiality.
• Translate and transcribe interview recordings when required.
• Review questionnaires daily for consistency, resolve discrepancies on‑site, and upload completed data to the server.
• Participate in daily debriefings, training sessions and pilot testing of data collection tools.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education in health, social sciences or related fields is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in remote field settings.
• Good communication skills in English and local languages (Amharic, Afar).
• Willingness to travel to health facilities across Amhara and Afar regions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with REDCap for electronic data capture.
• Familiarity with DHIS2 reporting tools.
• Basic data extraction and entry skills.
