Digital Editor

About the role

Fortune, the largest English weekly in Ethiopia, is recruiting a Digital Editor to join its digital team. The editor will be responsible for the digital outlets alongside an editorial staff committed to quality information. The position is full time, on site in Addis Ababa, open to junior candidates with 0-2 years of experience.

Key responsibilities

• Create compelling, shareable multimedia content tailored to each platform
• Edit videos and manage content across the Addis Fortune accounts
• Use analytics tools to track and optimise digital performance
• Collaborate with the editorial and marketing teams on cohesive content
• Develop and run social media strategies to increase brand visibility
• Work to strict deadlines and keep supervisors informed
• Engage with the audience and handle inquiries, comments and mentions professionally
• Cultivate relationships with industry partners and follow emerging trends

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Digital Editor, Social Media Manager or similar role
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling
