Driver – Safe Transportation for Field Operations

About the role

Save the Children is seeking a reliable Driver to provide safe and efficient transport for staff, visitors, and project activities across assigned woredas. The role supports the implementation of multi‑sector projects by ensuring timely mobility and adherence to safety and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily transport services to staff, visitors, and guests as directed by the Logistics and Admin Officer.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logs, fuel consumption records, and monthly usage reports.
• Conduct pre‑trip and weekly vehicle checks (oil, coolant, brakes, tires, lights) and perform minor maintenance.
• Ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, lubricated, and serviced according to schedule.
• Secure the vehicle against unauthorized use and uphold safety and security guidelines.
• Handle confidential matters with discretion and respect local cultural norms.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle class.
• Experience driving in rural or challenging environments.
• Ability to follow safety, security, and logistical procedures.
• Respect for diverse cultures and communities.

Required skills

• Vehicle operation and navigation.
• Basic vehicle maintenance (oil checks, tire pressure, brake inspection).
• Accurate record‑keeping and reporting.
• Familiarity with safety and security guidelines for humanitarian operations.
