Driver for FHI 360 Projects

About the role

The driver will support the STRIDES project office in Ethiopia by operating the project vehicle, ensuring safe transport of staff and clients, and maintaining the vehicle in good condition.

Key responsibilities

• Transport staff, consultants and visitors to approved locations while ensuring safety and security.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform routine maintenance (oil changes, inspections, brakes, tire pressure) and arrange major repairs.
• Keep vehicle documentation up to date, including insurance, logs and spare parts.
• Plan routes based on schedules or ad‑hoc requests and ensure passengers follow road safety regulations.
• Perform errands such as picking up and delivering items, and provide protection in high‑risk locations when required.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 0‑3 years of driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Trade test certificate, valid driving licence and ability to operate large vehicles.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.
