Driver – Transport Services

About the role

The Driver will provide safe and efficient transport services for Save the Children staff, visitors and daily operational needs. This role supports the implementation of multi‑sector projects by ensuring reliable mobility and adherence to safety and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide transport for staff, visitors, guests and daily errands as assigned.
• Conduct pre‑trip checks each day (engine oil, radiator, washer fluid, brake and clutch oil, battery water, tire pressure, lights and indicators).
• Maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness, fuel level, lubrication and schedule regular servicing.
• Keep an accurate logbook of all journeys, fuel consumption, repairs and maintenance activities.
• Prepare and submit a monthly vehicle usage report to the Logistic and Admin Officer.
• Ensure the vehicle is used only by authorized personnel and that the Save the Children logo is displayed where appropriate.
• Follow all safety and security guidelines and handle confidential matters with care.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence for the vehicle category required.
• Experience driving similar vehicles in local conditions.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian traffic regulations and ability to follow safety protocols.
• Respect for diverse cultures and ability to interact courteously with community members.
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility.

Required skills

• Vehicle operation and routine maintenance.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting (oil, brakes, battery, tires).
• Accurate record‑keeping and reporting.
• Fuel consumption tracking.
