Education Manager

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking an Education Manager to oversee the delivery of the PM3.0 core package in schools across the Woldia‑North Wollo area. The role will ensure that project targets are met, support partner organizations, and promote inclusive, equitable access to education for all learners.

Key responsibilities

• Support the country office in developing and implementing strategic education initiatives in line with IRC’s mission.
• Represent IRC education programs in inter‑agency coordination meetings at regional, zonal and woreda levels.
• Identify critical education needs of crisis‑affected communities and contribute to funding proposals.
• Capture and disseminate lessons learned from partner‑implemented projects.
• Provide on‑the‑job training, mentoring and technical guidance to partners delivering the PM3.0 core package.
• Liaise with government officials and system actors to ensure effective program planning and implementation.
• Assist partners in preparing work, procurement and spending plans.
• Undertake additional tasks as requested by the manager.

Required profile

• Experience working in education programs within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of inclusive education principles, including needs of children with disabilities.
• Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies and local partners.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
