Field Coordinator

About the role

The Field Coordinator will lead the implementation of the END FUND‑supported trachomatous trichiasis (TT) backlog clearance across multiple woredas in Central Ethiopia, and support related SAFE strategy activities. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role is based in Butajira and involves close collaboration with zonal health departments, woreda health offices, and community health workers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute woreda‑based TT surgery plans to achieve high‑volume, quality surgeries.
• Mobilise and supervise trained Integrated Eye Care Workers (IECWs) and volunteers for outreach and static TT surgery sessions.
• Conduct supportive supervision, quality‑assurance checks, and case‑finding activities to ensure all TT cases are identified and treated.
• Organise review meetings with health authorities and partners to monitor progress and address challenges.
• Facilitate training for IECWs, health extension workers, and community volunteers on TT case finding and surgery protocols.
• Prepare quarterly case studies and regular planning documents for the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of the Project Manager and coordinate with health department officials.
• Experience in planning and delivering community‑based eye health interventions.
• Strong organisational skills for managing multiple woredas and stakeholder relationships.
