Field Officer – Development Projects

About the role

The Field Officer will support the implementation of the "Empowering Futures for Youth and Women beyond Agriculture" project in the Oromia Region. Working under the Project Coordinator and in close collaboration with the EC Project Manager and Consortium Coordinator, the role is based in Moyale with regular travel to project sites across several regions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, needs assessments, proposal preparation and budgeting for project activities.
• Monitor field activities, collect data and prepare regular progress reports.
• Support procurement processes, including drafting specifications and inspecting delivered materials.
• Coordinate with woreda officials, TVET institutions, kebele administrators, community leaders, private‑sector partners and other NGOs.
• Ensure that project outputs meet quality standards and are delivered on schedule.

Required profile

• Energetic, disciplined and responsible individual with experience in field‑based development or humanitarian projects.
• Ability to travel frequently and work in remote locations.
• Strong coordination and communication skills for interaction with government officials, community representatives and partners.

Required skills

• Experience with procurement specification preparation and material inspection.
• Competence in budgeting, monitoring and reporting of project activities.
