Field Project Associate – Mobility Tracking (Affiliated Contractor)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Field Project Associate to support its Data and Research Unit in Ethiopia. The role focuses on mobility tracking, data collection, and quality assurance for displacement‑related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and monitoring project activities, ensuring adherence to work plans and schedules.
• Verify and monitor the quality of data collection, applying corrective measures when needed.
• Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse, and present data on specific project topics.
• Develop work plans and activity schedules for each round of data collection in coordination with the DRU team.
• Draft status reports, identify shortfalls, and propose remedial actions.
• Facilitate communication with government focal points and regional stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and presentations.
• Organise meetings, workshops, and training sessions; maintain files and records.
• Coordinate implementation activities with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, donors, and other partners.
• Monitor implementing partners’ work and report non‑compliances.
• Gather timely information on displacement population mobility and support flow monitoring.

Required profile

• Experience in data collection, monitoring, and analysis within humanitarian or migration projects.
• Strong attention to data quality and ability to implement corrective actions.
• Excellent reporting and documentation skills, including preparation of briefs, tables, and presentations.
• Ability to coordinate with government officials, UN agencies, NGOs, and donors.
• Good organisational skills for planning workshops, meetings, and training sessions.
