Finance and Admin Assistant

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Finance and Admin Assistant to support its operations in Humera, Ethiopia. Working under the Support Service Team Leader, you will ensure accurate financial record‑keeping, cash management, and compliance with DRC procedures and donor regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping and record transactions in DRC Dynamics, ensuring correct project and budget coding.
• Prepare and verify payment, receipt, and journal vouchers with complete supporting documentation.
• Maintain electronic and physical filing of financial records, contracts, and bank documents.
• Manage petty cash, conduct cash counts, and handle cash advances and disbursements.
• Process approved bank transfers, liaise with banks, and monitor cash balances.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and assist in financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with DRC financial policies, donor regulations, and local legislation, maintaining audit‑ready documentation.

Required profile

• Ability to follow DRC financial procedures and donor regulations.
• Attention to detail for accurate transaction recording and documentation.
• Capability to work under supervision of the Support Service Team Leader.

Required skills

• Proficiency with DRC Dynamics financial system.
