Financial Intermediation General Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead the operations and growth of a newly established financial intermediation company in Addis Ababa. The role requires strong financial‑services background, proven leadership, and deep understanding of governance and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall operations and management of the company.
• Execute the business strategy and operational plan.
• Build, manage and develop the team.
• Oversee business performance and client relationships.
• Establish effective operational processes and internal controls.
• Ensure corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with the Board and senior management.
• Represent the company with clients, regulators, investors and partners.
• Support business development and growth of capital‑market services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Management or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in financial services.
• Minimum 3 years of senior management or executive‑level experience in financial intermediation.
• Experience in banking, insurance, micro‑finance, investment banking, investment management or corporate finance.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Deep understanding of governance, risk management and regulatory requirements.
• High level of professional integrity, accountability and sound judgment.
• Preferred: previous CEO/GM/Executive Director experience, securities or capital‑market certifications, familiarity with Ethiopia’s capital‑market environment.
