Healthcare Specialist

About the role

The Healthcare Specialist will lead child health services within our community programs in Addis Ababa. Working closely with local partners, you will ensure children receive regular medical check‑ups, health education and timely emergency care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine health examinations for children enrolled in our programs.
• Design and roll out health‑education initiatives and promotional materials.
• Coordinate referrals and specialized care with local healthcare providers.
• Maintain accurate, confidential health records for all beneficiaries.
• Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid and basic treatment.
• Train staff and volunteers on hygiene, sanitation and basic health practices.
• Develop and implement community health promotion activities.

Required profile

• Nursing degree or equivalent medical qualification.
• Minimum three years of experience in pediatric or community health.
• Background in humanitarian or NGO settings is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of common childhood illnesses and preventive measures.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Amharic.
• Compassionate, patient‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• First aid certification and practical emergency response.
