Human Resources Assistant (G6)

About the role

The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa is seeking a Human Resources Assistant (G6) to provide experienced‑level support in the administration of staff benefits and entitlements. The role involves applying established HR rules and procedures across a broad range of cases, ensuring accurate and timely service delivery to staff.

Key responsibilities

• Administer staff benefits, entitlements and related HR processes.
• Apply UN HR rules and procedures consistently across diverse cases.
• Process personnel actions, maintain accurate personnel records, and update HR databases.
• Provide guidance and clarification to staff on HR policies, procedures and entitlements.
• Support the Human Resources Management Section in delivering high‑quality HR services.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in HR administration within an international or multilateral organization.
• Strong knowledge of UN staff rules, benefits and personnel action processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Effective communication skills to advise staff on HR procedures.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the HR team.
