Human Resources Director

About the role

Yegna Trading PLC, a fast‑growing Ethiopian trading company, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead its people strategy. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will act as a strategic partner, driving organizational transformation, talent development, and a high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business growth and operational excellence.
• Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning.
• Design and implement performance management systems that foster accountability.
• Create and maintain HR policies, ensuring compliance with Ethiopian labor laws.
• Provide strategic guidance on organizational development and change management.
• Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and grievance handling.
• Establish learning and development programs to enhance employee capabilities.
• Monitor HR metrics and KPIs to improve effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate HR records, reporting systems, and compliance documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management or related field; Master’s degree or professional HR certification is a plus.
• Proven senior HR leadership experience, preferably in trading, construction materials, manufacturing or related sectors.
• Demonstrated success in leading organizational transformation and culture change.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian Labor Proclamation and employment regulations.
• Extensive experience in recruitment, talent management, employee relations, and performance management.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
