Investment Officer – Assosa

About the role

The Investment Officer will serve as a trusted partner to Inkomoko Ethiopia’s entrepreneurs, guiding them through the application, appraisal, and disbursement of investment products. Based in Assosa, the role combines client interaction, due‑diligence, and portfolio oversight to support sustainable micro‑finance growth.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries from prospective borrowers and assist them in applying for investment products.
• Introduce investment products, explain repayment requirements, and assess suitability.
• Conduct investment appraisal, collect personal, business, and guarantor information, and open new investment accounts.
• Prepare and execute investment contracts, arrange disbursement of funds or in‑kind support, and coordinate with Business Development Advisors.
• Perform site visits, gather documentation, and prepare credit reports for Investment Committee meetings.
• Capture entrepreneur photos, obtain waivers, and ensure accurate stories are posted on the Kiva platform.
• Provide ongoing portfolio management through daily communication, correspondence, and site visits.

Required profile

• Experience in investment appraisal, due‑diligence, or micro‑finance operations.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with entrepreneurs and internal teams.
• Ability to travel for site visits and conduct thorough documentation.
• Attention to detail in preparing contracts, reports, and platform content.
