Investment Officer – Jigjiga

About the role

The Investment Officer will serve as a trusted partner for Inkomoko Ethiopia’s clients, supporting entrepreneurs in accessing and managing investment financing. Based in Jigjiga, the role involves guiding borrowers through the application process, conducting due diligence, and ensuring successful disbursement and monitoring of funds.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries from prospective borrowers and introduce Inkomoko’s investment products, explaining repayment requirements.
• Conduct investment appraisal, collect personal and business information, and open new investment accounts.
• Prepare and execute investment contracts, arrange disbursement of funds in kind, and coordinate site visits and documentation.
• Assist the Investment Manager by preparing credit reports for Investment Committee meetings.
• Capture entrepreneurs’ photos, obtain waivers, and ensure accurate stories are posted on the Kiva platform for fundraising.
• Provide ongoing portfolio management through daily communication, correspondence, and site visits as needed.

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to assess borrower information and conduct due diligence.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with entrepreneurs, Business Development Advisors, and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and field verification.
• Attention to detail in preparing contracts, credit reports, and Kiva platform content.
