Lead, Component 4 – Soil Fertility Management (TRANSFORM)

About the role

The successful candidate will lead Component 4 of the TRANSFORM Soil Fertility Management Program in Ethiopia, focusing on creating an enabling environment for soil health and fertility. Reporting to the program director, the lead will align the initiative with national and continental strategies such as the Ethiopian Fertilizer and Soil Health Roadmap, AUDA‑NEPAD, CAADP and the Nairobi Declaration.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership to integrate soil health, policy and market interventions across research, extension and government sectors.
• Establish and facilitate national and regional multi‑stakeholder platforms to accelerate the EFSH Roadmap implementation.
• Convene policy dialogues on fertilizer access, subsidy frameworks, and soil input regulations.
• Strengthen regulatory processes for registration and labeling of soil inputs in line with international standards.
• Coordinate with other TRANSFORM components and external initiatives to ensure coherence and knowledge exchange.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in agricultural policy, soil health or related fields, preferably in Ethiopia or the African region.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and engage diverse stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of national and continental agricultural frameworks and regulatory environments.
