About the role

Debre Berhan University is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Lecturer to join its academic staff. The successful candidate will contribute to high‑quality teaching and research across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, update and deliver lecture materials, seminars and practical sessions.
• Design assessments, grade assignments and exams, and provide timely feedback.
• Advise and mentor students on academic matters.
• Participate in research projects and scholarly publications.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental collaboration.
• Attend departmental meetings, support quality‑assurance processes and engage in community service activities.

Required profile

• Relevant master’s degree or higher in the discipline.
• Demonstrated university‑level teaching experience.
• Strong research or scholarly potential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to design curricula, integrate active learning and use educational technologies.
• Organizational and time‑management skills.
• Commitment to ethical, student‑centered and inclusive teaching practices.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
