MEAL Officer – Nutrition Monitoring & Evaluation

About the role

The Nutrition MEAL Officer will lead the design, implementation and oversight of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems for nutrition and therapeutic feeding programmes funded by WFP and other donors. Working closely with program and partner teams, the officer ensures data‑driven decision‑making, accountability to beneficiaries and continuous improvement of programme quality.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the functionality and compliance of WFP‑funded MEAL systems across assigned operational areas.
• Develop and execute MEAL plans, conduct regular field monitoring, and produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports in line with donor and government requirements.
• Coordinate post‑distribution monitoring, data quality assessments and baseline, mid‑term and final evaluations, guaranteeing accurate data collection and validation.
• Support learning and documentation by preparing success stories, presentations and other knowledge‑sharing materials.
• Collaborate with programme staff to integrate findings into adaptive programming and enhance beneficiary feedback mechanisms.

Required profile

• MA/MSc or BA/BSc in Public Health, Nutrition, Development Studies, Biostatistics, M&E, Disaster Management or related fields.
• 3‑5 years of experience in emergency response, food assistance, disaster mitigation or development programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to work in humanitarian contexts and with multi‑stakeholder teams.
