MEAL Officer – Nutrition Monitoring & Evaluation

About the role

The Nutrition MEAL Officer will lead the design, implementation and oversight of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems for World Vision’s nutrition and food assistance programmes in Ethiopia. The role ensures data‑driven decision‑making, program accountability and continuous improvement in line with donor and World Vision standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the WFP‑funded MEAL system across assigned operational areas.
• Develop MEAL plans, conduct regular field monitoring, and produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Coordinate post‑distribution monitoring, data quality assessments and baseline, mid‑term and final evaluations.
• Support learning by preparing success stories, presentations and other documentation.
• Collaborate with program and partner teams to ensure transparent beneficiary feedback and adaptive programming.

Required profile

• MA/MSc or BA/BSc in Public Health, Nutrition, Development Studies, Biostatistics, M&E, Disaster Management or related fields.
• 3‑5 years of experience in emergency response, food assistance or disaster mitigation programmes.
• Strong understanding of MEAL methodologies and donor reporting requirements.
