Medical Doctor

About the role

The Medical Doctor will work on‑site in Addis Ababa, providing comprehensive clinical care, family planning services, and preventive health advice to a diverse patient population. This full‑time position requires delivering high‑quality diagnosis, treatment, and counseling while maintaining strict confidentiality and infection‑control standards.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions, including STIs, HIV/AIDS, and opportunistic infections.
• Perform obstetric procedures such as manual removal of placenta and manual vacuum aspiration.
• Administer parenteral antibiotics, oxytocic drugs, and anticonvulsants for pre‑eclampsia/eclampsia.
• Provide long‑term family planning methods (implants, IUCD) and surgical contraception (VSC, tubal ligation).
• Maintain accurate medical records, ensure regulatory compliance, and safeguard patient privacy.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and represent the organization at regional meetings.
• Ensure adequate medical supplies and uphold infection‑prevention protocols.

Required profile

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent with a valid Ethiopian medical license.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on clinical experience after graduation.
• Strong knowledge of preventative health, chronic disease management, and family planning guidelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient‑focused approach.
