Partnership and Market System Development Advisor (Maternity Cover)

About the role

The Partnership and Market System Development Advisor will support the LIWAY programme, a 13‑year initiative aimed at improving livelihoods for women and youth in the agri‑food sector. Working within an SNV country office, the advisor will provide technical guidance on market‑system development and ensure robust grant and contract management throughout the project.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the development, negotiation, and compliance of grants and contracts related to the LIWAY project.
• Monitor performance of funded activities and ensure resources are used efficiently and in line with donor requirements.
• Design and implement market‑system development interventions, identifying root causes of market failures and engaging private and public actors.
• Provide technical advice to project managers on market analysis, experimentation, and scaling of successful approaches.
• Facilitate learning and knowledge sharing across the consortium partners, including SNV and Mercy Corps.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in economics, development studies, agribusiness, or a related field.
• Experience in grant and contract management within development projects.
• Proven ability to design and implement market‑system development strategies.
• Strong analytical skills and familiarity with monitoring and evaluation processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
