Programme Analyst (AFSIT) – P2

About the role

The Africa Facility to Support Inclusive Transitions (AFSIT) is a joint initiative of the African Union Commission and UNDP that supports countries through complex political transitions, with an emphasis on inclusive governance, stability and the participation of women, youth and marginalized groups. The Programme Analyst (P2) reports to the AFSIT Programme Specialist at the UNDP Regional Service Centre for Africa (RSCA) and works with UNDP Country Offices, regional institutions and development partners. The post leads the delivery of two regional projects: BRIDGE (Guinea-Bissau, South Sudan, The Gambia) and Rebuilding the Social Contract Between States and Citizens in the Sahel (Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger).

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation of AFSIT programming and the two regional projects, including the civil society toolkit, the dialogue on Women's Political Participation in Africa and diaspora dialogues.
• Support country-level implementation by UNDP Country Offices, aligning with Open Society Foundation and African Development Bank requirements.
• Organise continental peer exchanges on transitional justice and support the AU transitional justice women and youth platforms.
• Monitor and report: prepare annual workplans, budgets and implementation plans, track progress against results frameworks, and prepare donor reports and briefing notes.
• Engage with Country Offices, regional organisations, civil society and development partners, organise stakeholder meetings and help identify new partners and donors.
• Contribute to knowledge development and support wider Regional Programme for Africa initiatives.
