Project Associate – Migration Response Centres

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Associate to support its Migration Response Centres (MRCs) in Ethiopia. Working under the Programme Officer (Protection) and the National Officer (Protection), you will help plan, deliver and administratively sustain MRC operations, ensuring vulnerable migrants receive timely assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination and implementation of MRC activities in collaboration with sub‑offices and local partners.
• Provide administrative support, including data entry, record keeping and reporting for MRC operations.
• Facilitate communication between IOM, government agencies and NGOs to strengthen response capacity.
• Support the identification, referral and follow‑up of migrants needing specialized services.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and contribute to the preparation of operational reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Psychology, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Social Work, Humanitarian Aid or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in humanitarian, migration or development settings.
• Experience with international organisations, NGOs or UN agencies is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable populations in multicultural environments.
