Project Associate – Reintegration

About the role

The Project Associate (Reintegration) will support IOM’s Return and Reintegration sub‑unit in Ethiopia, based in Jimma. Working under the Programme Officer and National Officer, the incumbent will assist in delivering Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) activities and ensure coordination with other protection units.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, implementation and monitoring of reintegration projects for returnees, including economic, social and psychosocial support.
• Provide coordination and liaison with government counterparts, NGOs, UN agencies and private‑sector partners to ensure effective service delivery.
• Support data collection, reporting and documentation for AVRR programmes and contribute to knowledge‑sharing within the Protection Unit.

Required profile

• University degree in Political/Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related field, or a high‑school diploma with at least five years relevant experience.
• Minimum three years of professional experience working with migrants, refugees, IDPs or trafficking victims, preferably in return and reintegration or livelihood‑protection programmes.
• Fluency in English and Amharic (written and spoken); working knowledge of Afaan Oromoo or Tigrigna is an advantage.
