Project Director, Ethiopia

About the role

The Project Director will provide overall leadership and accountability for the Double Fortified Salt with Iron and Folic Acid (DFS‑IoFA) project in Ethiopia. Over a two‑year contract, the role oversees day‑to‑day planning, implementation and tracking of project deliverables to ensure targets are met efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for project implementation, ensuring effective stakeholder coordination and partner engagement.
• Maintain strong relationships with government authorities, donors, research bodies, the private sector and NGOs.
• Integrate gender equality and safeguarding measures into all project activities.
• Build and sustain partnerships, strengthen partner capacity and address challenges proactively.
• Strengthen monitoring, evaluation and learning systems, leveraging data for continuous improvement.
• Prepare and deliver timely reports on project performance and results.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale nutrition or public‑health projects.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and steward relationships with government, donors and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong accountability for results and resource management.
• Experience in integrating gender equality and safeguarding into project design.
