Project Manager – WASH Engineer for Climate‑Proof Water4Food

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the Climate Proof Water4Food Project, an integrated USD 4.7 million initiative that combines climate‑resilient WASH, water resource management and climate‑smart agriculture. The role ensures delivery in line with AfDB requirements, Plan International standards and consortium commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall project implementation, including planning, budgeting, procurement, monitoring, reporting, risk management and team performance.
• Establish and oversee robust MEAL systems, ensure data quality, document learning and produce timely donor reports.
• Integrate safeguarding, gender equality, disability inclusion, DRR and child protection across all activities.
• Build capacity of local partners, conduct assessments and manage stakeholder engagement.
• Develop strategic partnerships with government, NGOs, CBOs and represent Plan International Ethiopia in coordination forums.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (MSc) in a WASH‑related discipline (e.g., Water Supply and Environmental Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Agro‑engineering).
• Minimum 7 years of experience leading integrated WASH and Food Security & Livelihood programmes, preferably in humanitarian or emergency settings.
• Proven experience managing multi‑million‑dollar grants from donors such as AfDB, World Bank or EU.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate consortium‑based projects.
