Senior Environmentalist – Standard Procedures Manual

About the role

We are seeking a senior environmental professional to lead the development of a Standard Environmental Procedures Manual for road infrastructure projects in Ethiopia. The role involves applying extensive experience in environmental impact assessment and policy formulation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and author 1‑2 comprehensive environmental safeguard policies, strategies, manuals or guidelines.
• Lead environmental and social impact assessments for large‑scale road and highway projects.
• Plan, monitor and evaluate environmental impact assessment processes for infrastructure development.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 18 years of experience in environmental works, including at least 10 years in impact assessment for infrastructure.
• Extensive involvement in planning, monitoring and evaluation of environmental impact assessments for road projects.
• International experience on road/highway projects is an advantage.
