Project Officer – Pharmacist (6‑week pilot)

About the role

The Project Officer – Pharmacist will join a six‑week pilot at Felege Hiwot Comprehensive Specialized Hospital to deliver patient‑focused drug‑health education to out‑patients and their caregivers.

Key responsibilities

• Attend the hospital each morning for the full six‑week period according to the agreed schedule.
• Plan, prepare and conduct 30 structured drug‑health education sessions (average five per week).
• Provide clear information on safe medicine use, dosage, adherence, side‑effects, storage, self‑medication risks and appropriate antibiotic use.
• Use culturally appropriate, patient‑centered communication and approved educational materials.
• Document each session (date, topic, participants, key questions, observations) and collect participant feedback.
• Submit weekly activity updates to the TelPharm Project Manager and report implementation challenges.
• Participate in coordination meetings and contribute to the final project report.
• Maintain professional ethics, patient privacy and refer any clinical concerns to appropriate staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Clinical Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
• Valid Ethiopian pharmacy license.
• Experience in hospital, clinical or community pharmacy, patient counseling or pharmaceutical care.
• Strong knowledge of rational medicine use, medication adherence, patient safety and antimicrobial stewardship.
• Excellent communication and health‑education skills.
