Protection Assistant - GBV Caseworker

About the role

The Protection Assistant – GBV Caseworker will work under the supervision of the GBV Coordinator to deliver high‑quality case management services to survivors of gender‑based violence in Adigrat (Glomekeda & Erob). The role involves direct counseling, referrals, data management and community‑based activities in line with DRC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide confidential case management and counseling to GBV survivors.
• Conduct referrals to relevant services and ensure follow‑up until case closure.
• Maintain accurate records in the Gender‑Based Violence Information Management System (GBVIMS) and other trackers.
• Facilitate emotional‑support group sessions for women and girls at risk or survivors.
• Support delivery of basic GBV trainings to community structures.
• Identify gaps in GBV response services and report them to the GBV Officer and Coordinator.
• Engage with community representatives to assess needs and improve programming.
• Uphold strict confidentiality and protect survivor identities in all activities.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of the GBV Coordinator.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of all case‑related information.
• Willingness to travel to safe spaces and protection centres as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting.
• Familiarity with GBVIMS or similar case management information systems.
